Blind-Unfriendly Vending
This project critiques a vending machine on campus that lacks accessibility for blind users, including the absence of braille and audio guidance. Using the engineering design process, I identified how this everyday object unintentionally excludes a group of users and disrupts equal access. I designed a poster in Adobe InDesign to make this issue visible, transforming a subtle, often overlooked problem into a clear and public statement. The poster was then installed in the space to directly confront viewers. Accompanying the design is a written letter from the perspective of a blind user, adding an emotional and human-centered voice to highlight the impact of inaccessible design.
